Arrived in Mae Sot - end of day 18

Another 'full on' challenging action packed day.

It was a fantasico early gentle winding climb up along the chilly side of the mountain to the 1st and only Test of the Day..

The Test he said was a really 'nice' one lol :((
Well in the first 500 metres we got caught in a deep rut and nearly got dragged over the edge.. It was off roading with a few serious holes.. Super Mario in the Citroen got stuck on a bend right in the middle of the 'scenic' (photographers) spot so am sure navigator Katherine was very pleased NOT...

A few cars were stuck today at various locations. 2 or 3 were on the end of tow ropes to help them over 'dem rolling hills'..

A nice spot of lunch (courtesy of ERA) was enjoyed and then we were on our merry way to another rough roller coaster ride that David reckons was worse than yesterday.. I think we must have lost 3 of our lives this afternoon.. It was scarey..

The handbrake wasnt holding as well on the rough dusty gravel and ... Anyway we are safely at the hotel now and thankful for a day off..

And then onto the Coffee Stop..

The Merryweathers taking advantage of the 'penalty free' early checkout at this TC and they head for the Hotel..

We didnt hang around either. Quick icecream and we were away..

And this is the reason why i dont eat meat.. How disgusting.. :((

First Sighting of Burma.
We could have paddled across the river but we will wait till the morning methinx lol

We passed 8km of 'Refugee Camps' on the way to Mai Sot.. Not sure what that was about but will investigate later..
They seemed to be police guarded but we could see children waving through the fences..

Finally we arrive to another Fanfare, cold flannels and refreshments just before 5pm so another long day in the seat.

Cars are Resting and The Pool is calling..
