Arrived safely in Mawlamyine - what a day..

We leave Centura as planned at 7.01am.
Andy was very pleased to wave us off :))

We had a police escort to the Border..
Just to make sure we all left!!

Swift Border Control over with and we were off on the new unopened Black Top, heavily guarded with ...

And then onto the dirt for 25 kms and after hitting a road block ...

Got stuck in the sand and had to be towed out lol

Much to the amusement of the locals..

A Tough few hours of very challenging driving. Thank goodness it was just 165km today..

Spectacular Photo opportunities tho.
There must be a trail of carnage behind. Potholes.. No Roads..
The lot all in one day... :))

As soon as you cross the border from Thailand into Burma (Myanmar) you notice very quickly the immediate smiles on their faces. Peeps all ages were waving and smiling. We whizzed passed all their little huts with 'Leaf' tiles rooves. Tin sheet rooves are only just becoming fashionable here!! Deliciious spicey smells filled the air apart from when passing the Temples when the scent of insense lingered for miles..

Arriving at the hotel before 1pm was a miracle!! Only the 4x4 passed us today as the roads were too rough and difficult to go at speed. 35km per hour was too fast for the Old Girl.

Bump bump bump we went skirting around all the overloaded lorries, motorbikes, a few donkey carts, kids on bicycles...

What another adventurous day, if just a tad challenging!!

Thank Goodness the Border crossing was super smooth.. !!!

Off for a long shower and a petrol fill up and i think a  some sightseeing trip is a Must in this town!!!!
