Off to explore the town and in search of petrol. Very busy town so it was an experience especially in rush hour traffic.
The Locals we have found over the last 4 days of travelling through Malaysia are all very friendly but i am convinced that there cant possibly be a 'Standard Driving Test' here!! I think if you have a car here you can just jump in it and drive away, taking your whole family out with you. And it seems the more the merrier you can pack in a battered old Proton the better!! Not a seat belt in sight and the children ride on pappa's lap at the wheel.. Mamma and youngest daughter ride front seat with the toys and grandma and great grandma and next door neighbour and the rest of the children ride at the back with the picnic lol incredable.. So you can imagine what the roads are like now that the price of petrol has dropped 30 cents..
They dont seem to worry about 'mirror, signal, manoeuvre' and dead centre of the road seems to take their fancy at all times!! BUT and its a big BUT they do shift pretty quickly when they do catch a glimpse of you (us) coming along flapping our arms and tooting..So thats a bonus especially in this traffic and the heat of the moment..
It has been a real eye opener to how the other half live..
Happy and Stress free thats for sure with smiles from ear to ear... 👍
